His Story
Staff Sergeant William Cleveland was the crew chief of Super Six-Four, the second Black Hawk helicopter shot down over Mogadishu. He was killed defending the crash site alongside MSG Gordon and SFC Shughart. From Peoria, Arizona, Cleveland was a Night Stalker — a member of the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment whose motto is 'Night Stalkers Don't Quit.' His multiple valor awards reflect a warrior of the highest caliber. His memorial at Queenslake honors his courage and the brotherhood of the Night Stalkers.
