At the Finish Line
Joining Us
Two extraordinary individuals will stand with us as we read the names of the fallen, honor those about to run the mile, and celebrate the spirit of this community.
Jaime Morales
U.S. Marine · Sheriff's Deputy · Paralympic Shooter · Founder of 217 Strong
On September 11, 2018, Jaime Morales — Marine Corporal, rescue swimmer, MCMAP black belt, and Scott County Sheriff's deputy — was struck in the spine by friendly fire during a fugitive operation on I-75. His T1 spinal cord injury left him paralyzed from the chest down. He responded by building 217 Strong — a movement of nearly 40,000 followers built on adaptive fitness, mental toughness, and the creed that defines him: Never Give Up. Today he trains at the Olympic level and has his sights set on the 2026 Paralympic Games. He lives right here in Georgetown, Kentucky — and on October 3rd, he will read the names of the fallen.
Paula Trickey
Actress · Philanthropist · Patriot · Veteran Advocate
Best known for five seasons as Officer Cory McNamara on Pacific Blue and recurring roles on Beverly Hills, 90210, Walker, Texas Ranger, and The O.C., Paula Trickey is an actress whose career has been defined as much by service as by performance. A lifelong philanthropist and self-described patriot, she has devoted years to supporting veterans and first responders — lending her voice, her presence, and her heart to causes that honor those who serve. On October 3rd, Paula joins the opening ceremony to stand with the fallen, support the runners, and celebrate the music and community of the Mogadishu Mile Kentucky.
Kerri Kasem
Broadcaster · Advocate · Founder of Kasem Cares · Daughter of Casey Kasem
The daughter of Casey Kasem — the legendary voice of American Top 40 — Kerri Kasem turned personal tragedy into one of the most significant grassroots legislative campaigns in recent American history. After discovering that adult children had no legal right to visit an isolated parent, she founded Kasem Cares and fought state by state until the Visitation Bill became law in 22 states. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the Kasem, Nichols, Rooney Act in her honor in 2024. A broadcaster, author, and recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Kerri will join the opening ceremony on October 3rd to stand with the fallen and honor the 19 heroes of Task Force Ranger.
