THE MOGADISHU MILE:
AN ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO COMMITTED EXCELLENCE
Year 4: October 5, 2024
Mogadishu Mile 2024: Honoring the Legacy, Strengthening the Future
On October 5, 2024, Queenslake Horse Farm stopped work for the fourth year, eager to host the Mogadishu Mile and remember the 19 fallen from the Battle of Mogadishu. Benefitting Three Rangers Foundation and Blue Skies Charity, 40 four-man teams raced our lake and trails.
Queenslake welcomed 3 pilots who flew in the battle and 2 Gold Star wives of the fallen 19, providing accommodations in all B&B rooms at the Queenslake Estate and luxury lakeside RVs, plus food and nightly bonfires with bourbon to share Mogadishu stories. The pilots vowed to return each year for a Black Hawk Down reunion with more veterans and Gold Star wives.

Queenslake recruited to expand the list of sponsors: J. Mattingly 1845, Texas Roadhouse, Starbucks Coffee, 418 Communications, Hamilton-Hinkle Paving Company, Farm Credit, Stoney Top Burgoo, Countryboy Brewing, Scooters Coffee, Highbridge Water, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Tore’ Derolf (bagpiper), Eagle Creek Bluegrass & Country Band, Two Brothers Garden Center, Good Year (tire flipping), Bypass Rentals (equipment), and Dever Golf Carts (golf carts).
Queenslake added a WWII tribute—a lakeside beach with Czech Crosses along the Mile—while providing all logistics. A day of reverence, rooted at Queenslake.
